Advance Practice

The department supports the dynamic and varied practices of Nursing Officer, Nurse Specialist, Advanced Practice Nurse, Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse. They are members of the health care team that promote multidisciplinary collaboration and high standards of care. The disease specific focus allows for a unique opportunity to develop expertise and knowledge within an area of clinical practice. Continuity of care moves across inpatient and ambulatory settings and all stages of disease and treatment.

The nurses participate in the implementation of direct patient care, patient education and clinical support programs to insure optimum care throughout the healthcare continuum. Nurses work in the following areas:

• Acute Care Inpatient Units
• Ambulatory Clinics
• Chemotherapy Day Ward
• Radiotherapy Section
• Operation Theatre
• Oncological Complication Care
• Pain and Palliative Care
